About Us

Our little Gibson family was started on May 17, 2019 inside the small church my husband grew up attending in Corpus Christi, Texas. I met Luke - my future husband - at Hensel Christian Youth Camp in the summer of 2014. Since our marriage, we have settled in San Marcos, Texas and are currently both attending school at Texas State University. Both of us are set to graduate in December. One semester left! :) I will have earned my Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics, and Luke will receive his Bachelor of Science in Animal Science, Pre-Veterinary Studies.

We love San Marcos, especially our church family here and the small apartment we call home. Luke preaches regularly on Sunday mornings at the Camp Wood Church of Christ. We love the congregation there. It is made up of very giving, loving and wonderful people. It is a three hour drive for us to get out there each week, which makes for some very early Sunday mornings! But spending that much time in the car has created wonderful opportunities for talking and growing our marriage. Plus, I'll take every chance I get to hear my husband preach! :)

Our dream is for Luke to be accepted into Veterinary Medicine school and become a DVM (Dr. Gibson!) *heart eyes* He loves taking care of animals and I just can't wait to see his dream come true! We are hoping he is accepted into Texas A&M's vet program for the fall of next year, 2021. Many volunteer hours, exams, stressful applications and interviews stand between us and that goal. We are praying and hoping everything will work out. If he is accepted into the program, we will likely be moving to College Station in the early part of next year.

As for me, my dream is to eventually become a stay-at-home mom to some precious, already loved, beautiful babies. :) I want to homeschool our kids and raise them to be faithful Christians. We have decided that growing our family is something that should not happen until after Luke graduates from veterinary school (a milestone that is at least five years away, if not more). I am having to learn contentment and patience with this decision, but I know we have made the best choice for our family right now.

In the meantime, I am so happy in my role as a wife. I love having our own little place together, and getting to be the one to care for it and make it a home. Dishes and cleaning the bathroom might be tedious some days, but overall I still find so much enjoyment in caring for our apartment. I am also a full time student right now, and have been working at the Chick-fil-A in Kyle for the past two years. I started this blog wanting a place to write, share thoughts, and keep memories of this special time in our lives as a young, married couple. I also created this blog, wanting a place to record thoughts from my Bible studies and personal growth as a Christian. I am learning so much at this time in my life. I am excited to start writing, building this blog, and seeing where this all goes.
